We have a strong desire for our members and those that are attending Mt. Pleasant to be involved with the ministry of the church.  Listed below are different "first serve" ministry areas that we employ.  If you see an area of a ministry that interests you, then give it a try by using the form below.

Ministry Descriptions

First Impressions Team

This team is the “face” of MPBC for our guests. The team serves on a rotating basis and are placed strategically throughout the parking lot to welcome and direct our guests upon their arrival. The team helps direct our guests to the doors and passes them over to our Greeters inside the buildings.


Greeters are responsible for greeting and welcoming our members and particularly guests into the church each Sunday morning. Smiling, friendly people with a warm spirit are encouraged to serve in this area.

Creative Arts Ministry

Worship Choir, Praise Team/Band, Children’s Choirs, Worship Technologies, Passion Play, Drama Team, Ladies Ensemble-please contact Pastor Brad if you are interested in any of these ministry opportunities.


This committee is responsible for set-up, arrangement and preparation of all church related fellowship meals and functions within the church. The committee is to plan and prepare meals for each Wednesday evening and to assist with any other fellowship meals of the church during the year as planned/scheduled.

Community Impact

This committee should seek to use the facilities, properties/grounds of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church to reach people in our community. The Committee should help plan and organize events/activities to engage the community through Movie Nights, Flag Football League (FFL), Sportsman’s Banquet, etc. The Committee will work within the confines of the church calendar for all scheduling. Anyone in the church is welcome and encouraged to help with all outreach functions of the church.

Security Team

This committee monitors and patrols the Church campus each Sunday they are scheduled. The main responsibility with this team is to clear the Education and Office Buildings after Sunday Bible Study and make sure the buildings are secure.

Bereavement Team

This team serves on a rotating basis for our church members’ families who have had a death in their immediate family (spouse, son, daughter) by providing a pre-set meal for 20-25 people either in the Fellowship Hall or delivered to a family member’s home. If served in the Fellowship Hall, the team will serve the meal and clean-up afterwards.

Medical Response Team

The Medical Response Team will consist of those persons that are capable to respond to medical emergencies. These Volunteers must be CPR certified. They will be required to serve during all 3 services on the Sunday they are scheduled. They may also be asked to serve during special events (VBS, Movie Night, Flag Football, etc.).

Nominating Team

The Nominating Committee of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is responsible for developing a slate of Officers and Committees for the Church on an annual basis. This Committee will solicit volunteers for these spots by requesting Church members to fill out volunteer forms for that purpose. The Committee is to pray diligently for discernment and wisdom from the Holy Spirit in filling these spots. Careful consideration of a person’s spiritual maturity, commitment and faithfulness financially to the church should be weighed before selecting an individual to serve in a specific area or duty. The Committee is to work in close consultation with the Pastoral staff of the Church in making these selections. The Committee should submit their slate of Officers/Committee Members by the September business conference.

Personnel Team

The Personnel Committee shall consist of six (6) members, four (4) of whom will be selected by the Nominating Committee with at least two (2) members who are or have been ordained deacons. These committee members shall serve terms of no more than three (3) years in succession. Two (2) members will rotate off the committee annually. In consultation with the pastors, they will make financial recommendations regarding support staff to the Budget/Finance Committee by August 1st, annually.
The Personnel Committee shall be responsible for reviewing performance of all non-Elder/ Pastor salaried staff, determining staff needs, addition of staff positions, establishing and writing job descriptions as needed, recommending salaries and benefits for church personnel to the Budget/Finance Committee on an annual basis.

Budget & Finance Team

The Budget & Finance Committee of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is responsible for overseeing the Budgeting process on an annual basis. The Committee should work in close contact with the Financial Office of the Church, which includes the Church Treasurer and Bookkeeper(s), whom serve on the Committee in an Ex-Officio (non-voting) capacity. The committee receives emailed updated financial reports monthly. The committee will develop an annual budget to meet the financial and monetary needs of the Church based on solicitation of “budgets” from the various departments and committees of the Church that have responsibility over line items (dollars) in the General Budget. The Committee is to work in consultation with the Pastors of the church in preparing the budget for submittal to the church for a vote of approval in the September business conference.

Setup/Breakdown Crew

The crew is responsible for the set-up and breakdown of the chairs (and tables if necessary) for the Sunday morning and Wed. evening worship services. The crew typically sets up and tears down after each of those services. Individuals assisting with this ministry should be able to handle lifting and moving chairs and hand trucks.
